As a Corporate Director of Clinical Operations, you are expected to provide innovative, responsible results with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results. The primary purpose of your job position is to be responsible for the functions of the Clinical Services department at each facility within their assigned region.

  • Actively participates in the development and delivery of clinical systems that promotes superior patient care experiences.
  • Monitors clinical operations within each hospital to ensure that patient access meets applicable standards and daily services are excellent and customer focused.
  • Works with each hospital leadership team to ensure collaborative and effective team performance.  Utilizes Lean Operational Excellence tools to strengthen  team performance when necessary.
  • Creates, reviews, revises, and implements processes, policies, and procedures for Clinical Quality Operations in a financially sound manner.
  • Monitors the implementation of current policies and procedures, which reflect adherence to corporate and external regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitors clinical quality processes, standards of care, etc. and prepares regular status reports of compliance to the Corporate Chief Nursing Officer.
  • Provides guidance and holds accountable hospital level Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Clinical Officers for budgetary and staffing goals.
  • Reviews and instigates patient complaints/Hotline Complaints as directed by Legal Counsel. Ensures compliance with patient rights policies and works to resolve patient grievances.
  • Conducts compliance surveys at facilities. Assists in coordinating actions plans to minimize liability and risks as a result of compliance surveys.
  • Participates in State and Federal surveys and complaint investigations. Supports and follows up with facilities in identifying trends and assists in the development of corrective action plans and troubleshooting resolutions.
  • Reports findings of State and Federal surveys to the Corporate Chief Nursing Officer, Corporate Senior VP of Operations and Legal Counsel.
  • Gathers performance improvement indicators and survey data to identify trends. Develops Plans of Corrective Actions with the Corporate Chief Nursing Officer, Corporate Senior VP of Operations and Legal Counsel.
  • Schedules regular site visits to provide supervision, clinical expertise, ensures communication, and to monitor the overall operation of the clinical services department. 
  • Conducts facility reviews based on operational needs, changes in     management and commitment to regulatory compliance.
  • Provides in-service training and orientation to key facility staff regarding survey process, clinical leadership, quality and risk management, infection control, corporate compliance, performance improvement, etc.
  • Creates, reviews, revises, and implements clinical quality orientation and annual competencies.  In conjunction with the facility Directors of Quality Management, ensures that all hospitals comply with completion of all required annual competencies.
  • Provides support, communications, and holds accountable data collection processes between corporate departments, hospital departments, and external entities.
  • Serves as a system-wide resource regarding state/federal regulations/laws and accreditation body (TJC, DNV, DOH, etc.) standards for all healthcare facilities. Also conducts readiness surveys for compliance for the same.
  • Participates in creating education plans for hospital and corporate level employees for standards compliance.    
  • Monitors compliance for specific hospital and corporate staff compliance
    with same.
  • Provides facility information and clinical expertise to Corporate Senior VP of Operations, VP of Marketing, Sr. Director of Human Resources and Corporate Counsel.
  • May be requested / required to serve as Interim Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and/or Director of Quality.
  • Available via cellular 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for issue resolution except for Paid Time Off.  Ensures coverage when on PTO.


  • Registered Nurse with an active unrestricted license required.
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • 3+ years clinical quality operations experience responsible for two or more LTAC hospitals, required.
  • 5+ years of hospital management experience required.
  • Demonstrated abilities to drive clinical quality operational improvements.
  • Prefer experience with hospital operational excellence and lean healthcare initiatives.
  • Proven abilities to effectively communicate with hospital leadership.
  • Ability to deliver professional presentations to hospital and corporate leaders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 100% of the time on a weekly basis.
  • Proficient in Office Suite.
