Responsibilities

The Lead Dietary oversees the nutritional assessments and integrates nutritional therapy of patients ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric. 

The Lead Dietary monitors nutritional care, manages physician ordered therapeutic diets and provides nutritional education to patients.  Attends patient conferences.  Conducts nutrition education for patients, families and staff.  Maintains established department policy and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to project a Professional Image.
  • Ability to cook per established menus and per dietary requirements for patients.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements (Department of Health and JCAHO).
  • Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions (Word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.)

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Food, Nutrition and/or Dietetics.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Clinical Dietitian. 
  • Three (3) years food services supervisory experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

  • Prefer current registration as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, unless otherwise required by state regulations.
  • Prefer current registration with A.D.A. 
  • Must maintain current CPR certification throughout employment.
